Dr. Sam Winemiller (he/him) is an
adidas x Athlete Ally AEI Fellow and Senior Associate of Data & Research Initiatives at Athlete Ally.
Sam is responsible for a variety of initiatives in the Research division of Athlete Ally, including coordination of the annual Athlete Ally Exchange (AAX), management of the AEI database, and liaising with a number of NCAA athletic departments. Sam is a feminist cultural studies scholar working to make sports and recreation more welcoming to all people. He earned his PhD in kinesiology and sport studies from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and is now pursuing his master’s in library science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Prior to graduate studies, Sam worked for six years in the outdoor industry in the mountains of North Carolina.
