Sallie Barker brings more than 30 years of leadership experience in the sport sector to a number of roles in sport at a local, national and international level. She is Chair of the Equality Within Sport Committee of the European Non Governmental Sports Organisation, Finance & Governance Director on the World Lacrosse board of directors and Chair of British Blind Sport and organiser of the IBSA World Games in Birmingham in 2023.
Sallie has a long history in promoting gender equality and was one of the organisers of the first IWG Conference in Brighton in 1994 and in drafting the Brighton Declaration. For her service to sport, and in particular her leadership in expanding opportunities for women and girls to participate, she was awarded the MBE in 2016 by Her Majesty, The Queen.
