Melanie Squire is the Co-Founder and President of Iroquois Roots Rugby (IRR) which she began with her daughter, Meagan, in 2018.
IRR’s vision is to engage Indigenous youth in the sport of rugby while preserving Indigenous culture while recognizing the unique environments of the 133 First Nations communities in Ontario, Canada.
From humble beginnings of 3 athletes, just 4 years later IRR has 65 registered athletes comprising 3 sides and a Mini Rugby program.
