"Dr. Madeleine Orr is researcher, educator, and advocate working at the intersection of sport and climate change.

Madeleine is the founder and co-director of The Sport Ecology Group, an international consortium of academics who drive climate action in the sport sector through research and public education initiatives. Her research in sport ecology examines the impacts of climate change on the sport sector, with a focus on resilience and adaptation. Her work has been featured by the BBC, Time Magazine, ESPN, The Globe and Mail, The Guardian and more. Dr Orr’s work in the sport sustainability movement has been recognized by the Forbes 30 Under 30 list in 2021.

After earning her PhD in Kinesiology from the University of Minnesota, she was a postdoctoral fellow at University of British Columbia and an Assistant Professor of Sport Management at SUNY Cortland before joining the Institute for Sport Business at Loughborough University London where she is the Program Director for the MSc Sustainable Sport Business - a world-first that focuses on ecological sustainability in- and through- sport."
