Denise Atkins

Denise is a Senior Lecturer and Academic Development Advisor in the Faculty of Health and Environmental Sciences at AUT University. She is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (UK), a member of the AUT Academy (2019) and a recipient of the Vice Chancellor’s Excellence in Teaching award (2016) and undertakes research in the fields of Teaching and Learning, Health & Physical Education, higher education, pedagogy, play and children’s voice. As a previous senior advisor with the Ministry of Education Denise worked in partnership with a range of government agencies with a focus on young people's wellbeing.
