Elected in 2015 and re-elected in 2019, Dame Louise is the first woman to hold this prestigious global position. She has had a long and distinguished association with the Commonwealth Games, as an athlete (swimming for Team Scotland, Perth 1962) and thereafter, as Team Manager, Administrator and Honorary Secretary. The Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, starting July 2022, will have the largest ever female and para sport programme in history.
