Australia

Amanda Jenkins was appointed as the Acting Executive Director of Oceania in February 2022 following eight years of rising through FIBA’s ranks in the Oceania Regional Office.

Amanda has worked across the industry during her time but has most notably managed numerous events throughout the Oceania region, including guiding the region through the new competition structure from 2017.

Amanda previously worked for the Darebin Council, Melbourne and Olympic Parks Trust and was coaching representative basketball in Victoria, Australia prior to commencing with FIBA in March 2014.

Amanda was seconded to manage the basketball competition at the 2018 Commonwealth Games held at the Gold Coast, Australia, and has completed her MBA in 2022.

On her appointment as the first-ever female Zone Executive, FIBA Vice-President and FIBA Oceania President Burton Shipley stated "Amanda is a great ambassador for our sport and I know that she will lead basketball in Oceania with professionalism. She knows the history, knows the people, understands the challenges and she can see the opportunities for the Zone".

Amanda graduated from the Women Lead Sports program conducted through ASOIF in 2021 and is passionate about continuing the growth and development of the Oceania region across the FIBA strategic pillars. "I love working with and for the people in Oceania and across the global FIBA family. I am excited by this new opportunity to lead and to continue on with the fantastic work that we do here in this region. I was raised around a basketball court, so to be now leading one of the five zones of FIBA is truly an honor".
